I haven't seen a VirtuCube thread on ATOT yet. Perhaps it's time to sic the collective on it.

It has been open since November 2004 and only 2 of the 6 faces have been reported as being solved, so this is NOT a 5-minute puzzle break. There is a $500 bounty being offered to the first person who can solve it.

There are already some threads at the Unfiction Forums (google them) which contain spoilers on how to solve the first two faces.

Perhaps we can make some headway.

Hint:

It has to do with matrices, the phases of the moon, and a decryption code hint found on another level.

Another forum of puzzle solvers have been working on it for 6 months without cracking it yet, so don't bother.

The moon bit is a just a ruse.

Here's a hint to get everyone started:

There are actually two puzzles on the first/red face (the red one).
The first puzzle is the "inner" square excluding the outermost square of letters. Be forewarned that the letters rotate on a regular basis.

The inner puzzle should be solved first. It involves simply reading the letters the correct way. That will give you key combination that causes the puzzle to go through it's rotations which will help you sort out the second puzzle based on the outermost letters.

The second puzzle then provides a clue to the second/green face.

You figure out the arrangement of the piano keys....but did you figure out what to do from there??

LOL...well if it was that easy, do you think it would continue to be listed as unsolved after 6 months?

My theory is that using the information revealed after solving 2/green you can use 3/blue to figure out what code to put in on 4/yellow to unlock 6/purple.

But I have nothing to back this up, and aside from some queen references, I have no idea what to make of 3.

After reading on unfiction.com, I see a connection with the following:
The Virtucube Side 3 ( piano keys ) and the band queen.
With that, I think the numbers are broken into a type of code which
are related to the song "Radio Gaga" ; see lyrics below

I like that idea. I've dug into it somewhat, but I have no idea what the relationship might be.

Keep on cracking away. I've found that it's a puzzle that I visit a lot for a few days and then get frustrated and leave it for a couple of weeks.
