I think I remember reading somewhere that you can go online on Dreamcast through a regular ISP. If that's true, can you play Dreamcast games over those ISP's? Like say I connect my Dreamcast through one of the FreeISP's of the world, would I be able to pop in NFL2K1 and play online? I'd try it, but I didn't get the dreamcast yet, I'm getting it from a friend tomorrow, so I was just curious.

It should work for internet browsing. As long as the connection/browser software on the DC allows for a standard connection (DHCP, DNS entries, etc) it should be able to connect to a standard PPP server. Whether or not you'll be able to do online gaming, however, is a different story. Sega may be running their game servers strictly for Seganet customers.

You CAN play games through regular ISP's, it's just that SegaNET is "optimized" for game playing, meaning better access to the backbone on the net and fiber optic connections and the like.

I can't seem to get my MSN account to work with my Dreamcast though...

Alight cool, My family has AOL which I know I won't be able to use, cause of the proproetry software and all that. I use onfree free internet, it doesn't have banners or anything, but I can't seem to get it to connect just using dialup networking. Anyone know how to make this ISP do that? If not, does anyone know of another freeisp that I can use that connects through dialup networking? thanx.

Any free ISP should work with a DC. I once got it to work with Netzero. Don't ask me how, there are tons of sites on the net that will tell you though.
