hey everyone.... what do you all think about those distant education schools?

Such as ...

ACCIS.edu or university of phoeix online?

I know that a lot of colleges offer distant classes (via from within the school or your at home in contact/relation to the school and you have to visit every now and then). But what about those others?

do you all think its a waste of time? I know of course no matter what and even if they're not suppose to look at the school name, people do. a simple thing such as "oh you went to harvard?" being whispered in a room would catch attention other than "oh you attended a community college?"

I'm just curious because i hear and see them all over the place, either they're making money or losing out....

I take classes at UOP for a Masters in Bus. Mngmnt.
I do it because my employer will pay 100% of it.
That degree will get me nowhere.

I would do it if the classes were with a 'real' university, UOP is OK but you basically pay them money to get a degree so I don't think it would be a respected achievement on a resume.

UOP = University of Phoenix online
