Problem with these is they expire now, so if you're going to take the time and effort to go through a course and study and take an exam you may as well do the higher end ones like Cisco or Microsoft ones. Not saying they're useless, a lot of jobs actually require A+ and other comptia certs but sometimes they'll accept higher end certs too. I was lucky enough that my job did not require it, they only had it listed in the "bonus" section, basically it gave you an edge but was not a requirement. I've never been good at the theory stuff, I used to get really low on the Cisco tests in college but then get near 100% in the hands on.

That said, at $60 that might be worth taking the course anyway, then you can decide if you're confident enough to take the exam. If not I'm sure there may still be some gained knowledge in there that's useful.

It's been my experience that the more certs a resume has, the less they know about IT.

A+ is really easy to pass if you like building pcs. Wow, those prices are low. Is this for real? Mine are all out of date... hmm.

These training programs go on sale a lot, I get emails everyday from Udemy and Stack Exchange about training at low, low, prices.

For A+ I'd use Professor Messer's website. Totally free and they have study group videos on YouTube.
