hmm. this would be nice, but $600 is a bit out of my price range. anyone know of a decent AV receiver that has home network capabiities(RJ45 or WiFi), around 100 watts(RMS) per channel and around 0.09% THD for under $500? the cheaper in price the better 😉

Everything except for networking... Pioneer 1014
110wpc x 7 20hz-20khz @0.09% THD (no bs, independently tested at actually putting out over 100 watts) There's a huge thread at AVSforum about it.

I think you'd be better off asking over there about your needs. There are hundreds of guys over there that REALLY know there stuff when it comes to HT.

What do you use networking for btw?

Get an Onkyo 602B at J&R for $350 and buy a networked DVD Player or one of the Linksys Media receivers..

Careful buying expensive stuff like this from OneCall. They are a great retailer and I've never had a problem with them, but they will hit you with a 15% restocking fee if you return the item.
 
I do not know if they changed their policies recently, but I have bought and returned MANY (3 or so) receivers that were $1000+ and did not get any restocking fees.

Of course, I did not open most of the ones I returned.
 
Well,

Make sure that $800 receiver (ok, it is on sale now) is what you want before you buy it. Audition it somewhere, etc...
Buy the way, this networking thing on the receiver is so-so - it can play wav, mp3 and wma files only, and the list of internet radio stations cannot be changed so you cannot stream audio from you home media pc. May be there are some improvements in version 2.0, I haven't tried it yet.

Onecall is a very good company. I was very surprised, but they make a follow up phone call just to make sure that everything arrived OK. I've purchased couple expensive items from them.

Forgot to add - this thing is heavy - 36lbs.

FYI, this is an EXCELLENT receiver, I've had it for about a year and have not had any problems with it and it sounds terrific and it has no problems switching modes (no snap or crackle when going into or out of Dolby Digital mode) I am very happy with this receiver.

I think I'll update this as well....

The pioneer 1014 can be had now for $400 from an authorized reseller. Jokersmoker has a thread on it.
