Onkyo TX-SR502 home reciever.

Onkyo TX-SR502

does anyone have any thoughts on it? i know Onkyo has been known with high quality products, and this setup seems to have about what i need, except it does not seem to have enough outputs. I think i would rather just buy an inexpensive receiver, with a single sub out, and decent power for my components, than buy a moderately expensive one, with only a single sub out, but more power. and then way down the road when i have more money, take the money and buy a nicer receiver.

if you have another receiver you would reccomend, please let me know. nothing more than 300$ though.

In this price range, it's a pretty good bet I think. The single sub output is not a problem. I have just one on my H/K AVR 630, but have a pair of Definitive Technology speakers which have built in subs. I just use a "Y" connector to split the signal and it works fine, since it's mono anyway.

Whats it going to be powering? I was looking at the 701 for a while. Onkyo makes great receivers, and as long as thats enough power for your speakers I'd go for it.

it will only be powering for right now, a DIY component setup consisting of Vifa mids, and some north creek music D-25's. which only need like 50 watts to get loud (the tweets) and it sucks, because the tweets need less power, yet they are 6 ohm, while my mids are 8 ohm, so yea. LOL.

You'll have to wait a year to get this good of a price again, until the 602 is being closed out. Remeber this is a One Day Sale so it goes up +$50 again after today.

i was referring to my parents ordering it today. for my 18th b-day 6 days away, since it probably wouldnt get here until then.
