I recently purchased the above receiver as low end receiver for a dorm room. However it has been causing some issues that I can't quite figure out. When plugged into my ~5 year old monitor (HDPC compatiple) via HDMI my screen flashes blue when my PS3 is turned on. The PS3 dashboard is still on in the background but the screen flashes blue every second or so.
My Xbox 360 and PC have no issues with the receiver but as soon as the PS3 is turned on the screen flashes blue no matter what input I am using. Also when HDMI is selected on my monitor and no devices are turned on the screen has a blue screen saver but has a snowy effect that flashes in the middle of the screen.
I am thinking it is a handshaking issue between my monitor and my receiver but I figured I would ask here for some possible solutions before I take it back and go for a different model. I have attempted disabling true color on the PS3 as suggested on a few sites with no success.
