$99 HT-510 Speakers http://www.ecost.com/ecost/shop/detail.asp?dpno=157391 (I believe these are the speakers from the S760)

and

$149 HT-510 Reciever
http://www.ecost.com/ecost/shop/detail.asp?dpno=297832 (This is the receiver from the S760)

If you piece the two together thats $249

**EDIT** Their free shipping doesn't apply on the speakers since the weight is over 45lbs.

I'm looking to replace a nine year old home theatre system so this might be good for me. Any audiophiles have any opinions on this type of setup? At first the whole refurb thing made me worried but looking up posts of users (either here or fat wallet I forget where I read them) that have gotten refurb Onkyos from eCost has made me confident that it will be in "like new" condition.

i can't really speak for sound quality, but I got myself a refurb setup (speakers with receiver in one shot, though i can't quite remember which model it was) about 4 months ago, and there wasn't anything about them to suggest that they were 'used'. no idea where all their refurbs are coming from.

Wholy cow.. ground shipping on the receiver is free, but shipping on the speakers is $136.95. What a scam.

Receiver is on backorder.Shipping for speakers is more than their price. JandR.com has S760 (receiver + speakers) for $299 + shipping (~$100) in stock.I've ordered receiver from ecost on Dec.28 and it still shows on backorder.

Shipping is a joke on the speakers...m akes this a not too good deal.

I have the HT500 speakers and love them...but I got them for $129 at Fry's a while back.
