Went out to my truck to go to work this morning and the screen from our window was on the lawn. We have three cats and can't find one of them. Looked everywhere in the house but can't find him. Took a half day from work to walk around the the neighborhood and put up flyers. The one missing is one that my wife had before we met, he's about 10 years old. Wife is a mess! Hopefully we can find him soon, next week we leave for China for 17 days. :( Wish me luck in finding him! Thanks all!

I would not worry until the cat has been gone for more than 24 hours. An indoor cat will find a whole new world to explore before they get hungry enough to come home.

Call the local shelters and town animal control this evening to see if anyone found and turned him in.

I have to assume he's close and just hiding because he's scared. I might try and see if my Black Lab can track him down later today, she's pretty good tracking birds and other game, (still a long shot though)

Good luck man, but he'll probly turn up soon. Hopefully no neighbors have any kind of food out that he can eat.

Do you have some kind of bowl or dish that you usually feed the cats with/from that makes a distinctive noise? For instance we have a big plastic cup we use to scoop the cat food up and pour it into their ceramic bowls. If you go outside and shake the food container and/or pour some into a bowl that makes a noise, he might hear it and come a runnnin'!

Is Animal Control active in your area? You might want to call and report him missing after a day or two at most; that way if he comes in they won't mark him as a stray. There was a case not too long ago where a person's dog was collected as a stray, the owners were found within a day I believe, and the dog still got euthanized due to oversight :(

GL!

I've have this 20lb orange tom named Garfield I got from the humane society for about a year now. Great cat, and I've been letting him out on my back deck because the 4foot railing seemed more than enough to keep the big guy in bounds. He's never tried to jump the rail in the past, and isn't a keen jumper in general because of his size. He's not fat, just huge.

For the past several months we've had a black and white alley cat wander the neighborhood causing all kinds of raucus. He yowls constantly, sits in windows and drives indoor cats (and dogs) nuts, walks in mud muddles and the finds freshly washed cars to sit on, poops in the next door lady's garden, etc. Owner refuses to keep him inside, and if it wasn't for the fact I like animals I'd end the problem with my 9mil.

I let Garfield out on the deck the other night, and went to work on my computer. Heard a loud cat scream about 10 minutes later, and went out on the deck to find Garfield not there. I quickely ran around looking for him, only to find him sitting in the neighboors back yard licking his paws and seeing the alley cat from hell beating a hasty retreat. Seems Garfield jumped the fence just to kick some ***, and calmly and proudly walked back to my house with me saying 'good kitty' behind him.

Hmmm... wonder if that's what my dogs are going nuts about in the backyard.... That's not a $2000 cat by any chance, is it? ;)

I left our garage door open enough for him to get in and we left some food out. The wifes home so hopefully if he does make it back she see him or hear him. I bet our Bengal cat threw his poor little arse through the screen! We have my wifes 2 domestics and a Bengal. The Bengal just kicks the living crap out of the other two cats, and their bigger the her!

Was your cat looking pretty old in his days? I know 10 isn't that old for cats, but when pets know they are going to die, they usually try to get away from everyone and die by themselves. I've experienced this about 3 times and it's so very sad :(

My father's cat was old and all of a sudden he was missing almost a year ago. They figured the worst had happened and accepted his death.

Then about 1 month ago when they were getting a pool installed and had to clear out some plants, they found the remains of the cat :(

My one other dog that we put to sleep 2 years ago was hiding in a closet the day we had to take him to the vet to put him down :(

Hopefully your cat is fine and turns up.

Let me ask you my friend if any Wendy's close by where cats make escape and if they have any special chili advertising happenings?

Well no cat yet. I walked the neighbors yards and called for him but no luck. He's actually in great shape for his age. We just had him in at the vet and they said he looked great. I am going to go outside tonight at about midnight or later with a flashlight to see if I can find him. About the only thing that would eat Oscar around here is a local dog if theres one big enough. Thanks for the suggestions and thoughts! I'll post updates.

Thanks!

You really are an f-in asshole. I wish they would institute an age limit on ATOT, it would at least keep jackholes like you out :disgust:

They just need to keep over-emotional cat owners (I think that's redundant) out of this place. Cat owners understand no logic and react on pure emotion alone. That's a recipe for a basketcase.

I have to deal with the results of people like you at my house, with their disgusting cats coming over and pissing on my cars. I get in my car in the morning and it smells like cat piss.

I already exterminated a few of these pests, but my town is infested with them. They're like roaches, sneaking around and crawling out of the woodwork.

I can guarantee you one thing- if you keep your cat locked in your house *like a responsible pet owner should*, you have nothing to fear. But if you think that you can let your cat outside to "rule the night" and mess with other people's property, don't be surprised when it doesn't come home.
