OneNote 2010 and Dropbox

Hi all,

I have a question about using Dropbox to collaborate with a few others on a project.

The way I understand it is that if I create a new OneNote notebook and choose to save that notebook on my computer but place the file within Dropbox, it should be accessible to all members of that Dropbox and whatever changes they make are synced to all other members even if they have that notebook open.

The only options I see within OneNote sharing options are through the web or through a network. Do I need to choose something there?

Anyone get this working nicely? Would appreciate knowing your steps. OneNote 2007 appears to work differently.

TIA

I'd probably just use the native OneNote syncing for that. It will allow you to share the notebook and all users can have the notebook open at the same time, simultaneously adding text, etc.

I would stay away from dropbox altogether. i work for a law firm in the it dept and they had a memo to that effct, that their security was non-existent. they acually had a day last year (not exactly sure when) when you could get into ones account wihtout a password.

I agree that makes more sense. Unfortunately we can't do it through SkyDrive/MS and we don't have a server yet.

They will probably just stay local for now with a lot of google doc-ing until we figure it out.
