One woman's reason for hating Republicans

There is a political forum I like to visit on a regular basis. Well today there was a post named "Why I hate Republicans" and the following is the text it contained.

"The following is why I dislike repugs:
They steal elections. They steal money. They steal lives when they start their wars. They've stolen the constitution and hidden it away where we will never find it again. Their inherent selfishness. My money. My taxes. "

Here's what I posted in reply.

They steal elections? Ummm hello Al Gore. Well at least he tried.

They steal money? Ummm hello contributions from the Chinese and selling Lincoln's bedroom.

They steal lives when they start wars? Ummm hello abortion.

They've stolen the Constitution? Ummm hello PC speech, hate crimes laws, etc....

My Money, My taxes? Why is it selfish that I want to keep what I earned and not give it to some worthless welfare mom who is nothing more than a baby factory for $.

No, it's just that if you post anything in reply to her that is more than a few sentences she will always respond with "I'm 73 years old, I don't have time to read your repug book of lies."

That quote is actually a copy and paste job from an argument I had with her a couple of weeks back. I had written her something that was two paragraphs long in response to a post she made about the U.S. military being baby killers and rapists.

That's not what I'm looking for at all. I just wanted to share the hypocritical ramblings of a woman who spreads hate and lies but thinks she is above the fray.

do you realize the proportion that people on welfare get compared to the amount corporations get? Michael Moore calls it "corporate welfare" and it is ridiculous. I would much rather see my tax money go to poor people than corporations and shareholders. I ask anyone that dogs welfare to look at what is really going on, go learn something about "putting welfare to work" which is also a joke.

Look at it? I've seen it. One of my Aunt's works for the D.H.S.(Department of Human Services) here and the stuff she has told me would make you so mad you can't do anything but get sick. I would agree that corporate welfars is bad as well. The thing that truly makes me angry are the people that are able bodied but refuse to work. That type of human debris doesn't deserve a thing other than starvation. Maybe that's harsh but if you aren't willing to work in order to feed yourself then why should the money that I worked for and earned be used to feed your worthless ass? I have no problem with social programs designed to help those who cannot help themselves. My problem is with the people, and I use that term loosely, that could work but are too lazy to and expect the government to take care of them.

the thing is that you are putting to much emphasis on the so called "lazy people" I think that most republicans blow this way out of proportion. Sure, there are people that could work and do not, but there are also lots of people on welfare that really need the help, and the amount of money that the people that are not working are getting is really not all that much. There are much bigger fish to fry, like the ridiculous military budget we have.

The military budget is ridiculous? Ummm no. What would you have us do, slash the military and go back to the state we were in before WWII? The world is and will always be a dangerous place. Being unprepared militarily would only make it more so.

As for the percentage of lazy people to people that really need welfare etc... I have talked quite a bit to my Aunt about this since she is in a position where she travels the state and visits all the various DHS offices. I asked her once what she thought the percentage of truly needy was and she said it was probably around 30-40% and that the rest was just made up of people abusing the system.

Why do you have to be a jackass? I'm posting what I know from speaking with someone that works in the area. You can chose to believe it or not. Have you worked in social services or know someone who does? If so then please share with us. If not then butt out.

Before any of you start thinking I'm a heartless bastard I want you to know that I volunteer with a local soup kitchen, I work with Special Olympics, and volunteer at a local school where we work with disadvantaged kids helping them with homework. I also give money to charities that I think are worthy. I just happen to believe that throwing taxpayer dollars at a problem is not the solution. Local programs and volunteering is the best way to really help those that need helping.
