I just installed XP on my machine and the new installation can access the files on all of my other Win98 comps fine. But when I try to access my XP machine from a win98 computer, I get the message "\\XPCOMP is not accessible. Unknown error 31." I can't even see the shares on my comp.
Before this error, I got the password dialog box when trying to access XP from 98. I read the other XP file sharing posts and found that I needed to make a user and then logged on at the win98 machine with that user. I did that and now I get the above message.
I don't have the firewall enabled. I do have shares on my XP comp. Anyone know what could be wrong?
