One thing I have noticed on these boards about Gainward Ti-200.

After reading many many threads on this forum, it seems Gainward's Geforce 3 Ti-200 is popular by a big problem. However, I also noticed something that may contradict this. I glanced through many many threads, and alot of people with Gainward cards seem to be having problems. I saw more threads about them than any other card. Is this coincidence?

Kind of off topic: the ASUS v8200 seems to be a nice card, although no one seems to be giving it much praise or flames in the threads that I read. Did everyone forget about it? What are the opinions on it?

It supposedly has 2D image quality issues with some people that purchased it--and some online reviews I've seen on it say the same. The problem I have with the ASUS GF3 line of video cards is that they're priced much higher than most other brands.

I purchased one a while back and it had a refresh rate problem. The card would sync at 4-9Hz faster than specified. This would cause my monitor to lose sync if I tried to max out the refresh (before I figured out what was going on). I returned it for Gainwards regular Gefrorce3.

I wonder when/if they fixed this.

Is anyone having any problems with Windows 98SE systems? It seems that many of the problems are XP related upon initial install.

I've had a Gainward GF3 Ti200/450 for a few weeks now. No problems at all, and that beetch is FAST. No refresh problem, works great with Win 98, Me, 2000, and XP. 2D looks superb on my 21" Trinitron running 1600x1200 at 85Hz with 32-bit color.

I've owned three Gainward cards, no problems. You do have to take the "Problem with my video card" posts with a grain of salt. There are so many variables that can cause system problems. Too many people jump to the conclusion that their newest piece of hardware is to blame...
