One term McCane. What are your thoughts?

Should he win the Presidency, John McCane has promised to stay for only one term.

1. Does anyone have issue with that? Is he just running for the sake of being President?

2. Would he take a scorch-earth approach towards his ideas?

3. Will his VP start his vice presidency as a candidate for 2012 instead of helping to run the country, possibly starting a long fight between the Presidency and vice presidency?

I've never heard of a candidate taking a "no seconds for me" to the US Presidency before they enter the White House. It seems like he's only doing it for vanity's sake.

You have greatly misinterpreted his statements and I think you should adjust the OP to reflect what he actually said. What he actually said could just as easily be seen as political posturing, he is essentially saying 'getting elected as a 71-year-old for 8 years is more difficult than getting elected as a 71-year-old for 4 years, so I'm going to address that issue after I'm elected for 4 years.'

That's one term too many. The last thing we need is four more years of a misguided war in Iraq and a continued plunge into recession/depression with tax cuts for the very rich.

The VP is not a co-president isn't supposed to help run the country.

Are the candidates campaigning for the 2012-2016 years? No. Americans want change now, so why look that far into the future instead of handling the matters at present.

And this whole age issue has become such a nonsensical complaint.

You still should change the OP, or this is going to be another Obama/Global Poverty debacle where we have pages of debate on something that was created out of thin air.
