3 Zog 21723 3.83 years 1 hr 33 min

From what I read on their team site, this guy has a friend who works at a military base with some sort of mobile supercomputer on which his friend runs SETI when he can.

I want some new friends. ;)

I don't get it. What kind of cpu will give an average of an hour and a half ?

Dig thru their forums a bit and you'll find what I was referring to. Some sort of military mobile supercomputer.

That might explain the 1.5 hour times, but some explanation of the 6 min WUs is what I'm interested in. The only times we've ever seen things like that was when:

a) Only "sweet" WUs are being crunched,
b) CPU/memory has been over-clocked too much,
c) Someone is intentionally submitting fraudulent work units

Obviously, I'd like to believe this is either A or B. ;)

Funny you mention that team LWD ,I was looking around its forums & stats pages myself just earlier this week when a member of the Team Phoenix Rising was talking about joining them. And yeah they have nice stats:) ,but it ain't TA;)

NWM
Btw you missed off a 4th explanation ,don't you recall when Cobra was talking about his multi CPU 'Psycho'(;)) servers that could bang out WU's in less than 5mins? ,but SETI automatically refuse WU's crunched that fast!;).
Maybe that guy has 1 of these Insane 'rigs'?

If Cygor is reading this maybe he could tell us more?

Boy, now that sounds like alot of work.

Actually that would be what we call Bertha.
Zogs average would be lower but he also has some regular machines crunching besides the room heater.

Not much to say about Bertha that already hasn't been said. Just wish I had access to one of them ;)

Yep, Bilco joined up and is now enjoying our yard and beer bowl.

Dude, what else can I say. The first post pretty much summed up what the deal was. Frogeater ran s@h for a while on another mobile and you can see what his times are.

Oh well, the best I can do is get my dual 2000+ setup... that's about 3:10 at best per CPU.. meh not bad :)
