One silly question about 1394 network

I have two computers A and B connected to a router. If I connect them by a 1394 cable at the same time, there will be a 1394 network and a 100Mb ethernet at the same time, right? Then I want to copy a big file from machine A to machine B, what will happen? The file will transfer by 100Mb ethernet or by 400Mb 1394 network?
