look at florida, they are fXXcked.

that is all, plese move on.

earthquakes dont scare me anymore, that is not a valid excuse.

If you like S. California, you might like N. California more! Its all about NorCal
J/k I never knew there was a rivalry till I went down to SoCal and everybody made fun of NorCal.

truth be told theres a big difference between the people in so cal vs nor cal. san fransico is hardly nor cal btw. i lived in LA all my life and the people are fine, a big mix of everybody keeps you well grounded about society. up in nor cal theres mainly just white people, iv also noticed a higher precentage of asshats, im not sure why.

that being said, now i gotta pack for my trip to humboldt this weekend 😎

edit: and about speeding, i speed EVERYWHERE in so cal, i never was under the speed limit unless a car infront of me was going slow. and i never got a ticket, i have a low key sleep tho(89 thunderbird) so i didnt get that much attention, maybe if i was a ricer id have a billion of them by now but no, no tickets for this speed limit breaker. and when your a local, you know how to work the streets in your favor. when you know what streets to take when you get across town in half the time.

Out of curiousity, where have you gone and for how long? (including your current CA residence)

You don't need to drive like an ass to get raped by the tickets. If you accidently run a red (because it turned yellow on you earlier than you thought), that's $340 from you wallet. If you end up speeding, that's another $200. I don't know what my friend did in SF, but it didn't involve killing anyone and she's now down $1000. That's unheard of anywhere else.

I don't buy the argument that it's all your fault so pay up. Why not make execution a part of the process. As long as you don't screw up, you won't die! So what's the problem?

But it is your fault. How could it possibly be anyone elses fault? I suppose it's the cop's fault for seeing you break the law and singling you out for a ticket?

The point was, what is an excessive traffic fine? Otherwise we may as well apply death penalties to traffic violations because hey, what's the problem? If you don't break the law, nothing will happen. Coming from the East Coast and hearing these stories, I'm thinking... wtf... $200 for speeding. Holy crap. CA must be making a fortune. But how high should we be allowed to go?

Oh, I took that to mean that it somehow wasn't your fault...Silly me for assuming you actually meant what you typed.

Yes, you are a silly man for misinterpreting my point. Apparantly you were the only one.

Edit: Now with editing action! "I don't buy the argument that it's all your fault so pay up." That argument is often used to justify fines. Let's say I ran a red and got fined $100,000 (let's just say). It was my fault, but does that make it fair that I should be fined that much? My threshold of excessive may be lower than others and I'll concede that point.

I don't know about Dan but I spent the first 23 years of my life in upstate NY and the last 14 in SoCal. I've lived various places in upstate NY, Albany, Rochester and waaay upstate near Plattsburgh. I lived in Los Angeles (south bay area) for 7 years and I am now in north country San Diego for the past 7.

Nevada has better roads (no better drivers tho 😛)

Having lived in both places, I'd Pick NV

1. I'm not a pvssy about the heat.
2. No major earthquakes
3. No San Fransisco in my state
4. No income tax
5. Everything else good that CA has

Well, except the Pacific Ocean.

Not a plus, in my book. I don't like swimming (grew up in NY, on the Atlantic) and if I really want water, we have lake mead. Besides, if I want to see the ocean, it is an easy overnight trip to the coast.

Haha

We have no snow, no flooding (not long ones) and like three annual storms, thunder or not. 😀
