I have yet to be sitting here when it happens but since swapping routers (replacement router under warrenty because one port died on my netgear) my pc will loose connectivity to AIM while i am gone. But i see no log of it in my event log. No other pc on my network got logged off. Not sure if it is the new router or not. I am hoping it will do it while i am sitting here but it has yet to do that.

odd....

To solve this, you're going to need to do some actual troubleshooting to clarify exactly what the problem is. For example, when you get booted from AIM, can you still ping the router? Do you still have internet access?

yeah i am doing that now. I also got kicked once on my mac and not on either pc but could still ping the router from the mac.

So i swapped the pc into a different port on the router. see if this changes anything. If it doesn't ill swap out the network cable with a brand new one. I know it looks like its the router at fault since that isw the only thing changed in the network (just yesterday) buti would hate to have to RMA a 1 day old router. guess its possible since it was probably refurbished. maybe ill update the router's bios

happened again... changed ethernet cable. the only problem is that it works instantly after that, if i had aim on "reconnect automatically" i probably wouldnt notice this connection drop. But i am noticing it and i dont like that it happens.

soi can't really test if the router works when it drops beacuse teh second it drops, the internet works as well, but i did upgrade the firmware on my router and we'll see if that helps.

i dont think the "network connected" status re-sets so i think the router is not dropping all connection, just internet access for a moment

I guess it could be coincidence and it could be the cable modem right today acting up

try connecting directly to your cable modem instead of going thru the router. this could possibly eliminate the cable service as the problem.

well since all 3 computers don't lost conectivity at the same time, i am going to rule out it being the actual internet service. Also i was wondering if there is a way to monitor internet connetivity? Should i just set up a constant ping log?
