One of those days where I worked a lot, but it doesn't show.

Yep another playset thread.

Today's pics:Yeah it's out of focus. BFD.

I attached another 2x10 to the one already there to make a double thinkness header. To that you see a couple 4x4's.

These are doubled 2x10x12's. Note the holes in the left board.

The other on the right has the same holes on the reverse side. Before doubling the 2x's I drilled completely through one board.
Into these will go 36" x 1-1/4" OD black water pipes. Same with the other side. That will keep the pipe in place for monkey bars.

First one board will be loosely carriage bolted to the outside of one of the 4x4s in the last pic, and then attached to another 4x4 mounted on a doubled board running between these two 6x6 posts just like the opposite end, which forms one side of a smaller 6 ft square fort. The other board gets the same treatment. The pipe is put in place and the bolts tightened. Above both beams will be decking and a rail to connect the existing fort to the one to be.

Doesn't sound like much, but this is soaking wet pressure treated wood. A heavy sonova gun.

I built a 23x12 deck, with 20 4x4 posts, sunk 18-24 inches, 2x6 decking, and a corrogated sheet metal roof ... in 2 weeks. Working about 4 hours a day for 8 days.
