We have this older Blazer I am going to drive for the winter, the Infiniti is rwd and sux ass in the snow. Anyway, I decided to bring it to one of the $199 places. I dont really care about the thing, as I will only be driving it in the snow, but I did want it to look ok. The co. name is Earl Shibe or something like that. I do not expect it to look great, but maybe a little better then the sun faded blue it is now with clear coat ripping off all over the hood. :D Will post pics when I get it back. :tard:

Anyone ever get a paint job from an outfit like this?

What's wrong with the paint on the Blazer? Why do you want to get it painted?

Mask everything off yourself (handles, lights, etc..etc..) as they will probably not mask anything off properly. Do not expect them to do it right unless you give them explicit instructions on what to do.

I was extremely impressed with the $225 Maaco job on my old 91 Saturn ($25 extra for the flex agent in the paint for plastic side panels). My dad was impressed too, and he is an ex-auto painter.

I have heard of them. They generally don't sand the old paint off. I think they just spray over the top of it.

They paint is faded and the clear coat is peeling off all over the hood, as to why the paint job.

They hand sand it, mask it, and paint it. This includes a clear coat. I was suprised.
