Damn they say most people are idiots but it's just hard to believe until you see a thing like this. People paying $10,000USD for a role as an extra on a TV show? Hang on a second, aren't THEY supposed to be getting paid for this stuff. I know many people who do backgrounds for a living for all kinds of movies and shows. All you need to do to get into this area is sign up with an agency - they take almost anyone. But these idiots are willing to pay thousands to spend one day at the set and be laughed at by every other extra in there who is getting paid $20+/hour instead of paying $1000/hour.

Hmm... scary.

but its for the "auction for america" , where all the proceeds go to twin towers fund.

I think that it is a good idea.

777php has it right, it's for that wtc thing... you gotta think that some of the people are bidding for that reason.

also, if you're rich, what better way to get on tv? i mean, you don't have to audition or anything.

It's all for a good cause... like that guy who spent $350K for Jay Leno's bike.... though it was filled with celebrity autographs, but still ;)

Something like this would be tax-deductable, right?
