It turned out that a lot of the details in that case were fabricated. That story was spread around the Internet by someone with an agenda, and they embellished it to fit their agenda.

The only things embellished about the story of the white couple is:

1- They were not mutilated
2- The girl was killed within a day, not 4 days
3- Cleaner was poured down her throat postmortem to eliminate DNA...not as torture. (but what she endured prior is nothing short of torture)

However, having addressed all that:

1- a the media is going to make a big deal out of this because it reinforces the stereotypes of the south, in particular WV and those that assume that a good portion of the population is the same caliber as what is personified in the movie "Deliverance"

2- The mainstream media is so sickeningly PC that they have refused hardly more than a blurb about the above mentioned case, yet whenever there is white on black crime they are all over it.

3- Is this a sickening story? Yes, but not because it is a white on black crime, but because it represents mans inhumanity to man regardless of color.

Yes, that was the one part of your post that I agreed with.

But at the same time it's not right to ignore their racial motivation (if that is the case), because it is indicative of a very real problem we have in this country that some people don't like to admit exists.
