Honestly, it cost less, and really just gives you a closer and better feeling shave with a good DE.

Meh...YMMV.

I tried a DE for a couple months (borrowed Dad's old handle) and either got irritated to hell shaving against the grain, or got left w/too much stubble shaving with the grain

For closeness and comfort, it's tough to beat my cryo-treated Quattro and Neutrogena Razor Defense products...

[Edit] As for costing less, shaving every day, I'm able to switch cartridges every couple months--that's less than $20 a year.
