The pair charged with swiping cookie money from a Girl Scout are in trouble again, this time over allegations they skipped out on a bill at a Denny's restaurant.
Stefanie Woods, 18, who faces a theft charge for allegedly driving the getaway car in the cookie money heist last month, now faces a fraud charge.
Woods was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail. Her 17-year-old codefendant in both cases faces juvenile charges.
The two went to the Denny's at 4541 Hypoluxo Road west of Lantana around 3 a.m. Sunday and left without paying the $25.84 tab, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.
The manager gave their license plate number to deputies, who tracked Woods down at her home west of Lake Worth, according to the arrest report.
Woods was released on her own recognizance, according to the sheriff's office.
Woods and her friend are accused of snatching $164 from a 9-year-old Girl Scout selling cookies at the Winn-Dixie near Hypoluxo and Jog roads Jan. 30. The case made national headlines after Woods appeared on television news, seemingly unapologetic and reveling in the attention.
At the time, her attorney said his client was hounded by reporters and portrayed unfairly in the media. Woods is a misguided youth who was not even attending Park Vista High School, where she is a senior, he said.
Woods' juvenile record includes arrests on a burglary charge in 2006, followed by a charge of battery on an ex-boyfriend in April and a contempt-of-court charge in July, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
