You will be passing out! Unless they make you spit it out into a bucket or something.

That event sounds like it is most spectaculer ....
I recommend #93, Prarie Rock ... their micropub is in Schaumburg, IL (about 30 minutes drive from home, 30 minutes from work, just about at the halfway point ...) ... Their brews are indeed tasty and refreshing.

I'll make a point of checking them out.

I always liked those "beer festival" things...but then I realized that after the first dozen or so samples, the rest of the beer could be The Beast and I wouldn't be able to tell.

Edit: Not that I wouldn't love to go...it's just sort a shame, that's all :D

i know what you mean... at a certain point, you start drinking for fun, rather than for flavor. ;)

Holy crap ... "Alpha Kong: Belgian Sextuppel. 15.75% v/v" I think the stronngest stuff I've had is Sierra Nevada Bigfoot, Rogue old crusty, and/or St Bernardous Abt12 at just over 10%. But I've never even heard of a Sextuppel beer ......

I wonder if there's any way in hell it can be obtained near Chicago

I thought we already had a thread about this event? Not that I care, but... I'm not going though, despite being in Madison. I'm content with cheap, crappy beer. :)

Just went to a similar (but MUCH smaller-scale) event in Rochester, NY this past weekend. Maybe 20ish breweries... it was quite a bit of fun.
