re: infant mortality rate, the US rate isn't directly comparable to other countries because, even though we all call it infant mortality rate, it is defined differently in the US than elsewhere.

as such, i don't think that using the infant mortality rate as published by each country's medical establishment is anything but fallacious.

i wonder how much the author will complain when i tell him/her that he/she is wrong.

and I have heard of this before too, kinda like how european countries unemployment rates are not comparable to the US because they give you more time off before declaring you unemployed or something
