One of my SETI machine is dropping results

4:42am: s@h_wrk Sending Result: Seti@home status: Program modified
4:42am: Q0001 Seti returned: Program modified

I shut down SETI from this machine today. The last dozen workunits process by this machine was dropped by my Q and log is saying SETI returned: Program modified🙁:Q

Could this be caused by a bad memory chip? There is no other error in any other program but the RAM was recently upgraded.😱

Could be a virus, moonshinemadness had this problem a few weeks ago 🙂

Of course it could be bad memory as well, try the normals of Prime95 and Memtest86 🙂

Just update your scanner & do a scan🙂

i decided to run virus check on the laptop and other desktop...and well i wish i hadnt...about 5percent of the way through....88 instances of a virus called pe_lorez and pe_spaces on the laptop alone.....might this be the problem?

Thanks for the info.

Current scan did not reveal any new virus. Last time it found virus was last month. Found KLEZ type virus.

I did compare the SETI client file with the other machine. The machine in question had the SETI client file modified April 30, 2003. The file grew from 188 KB to 197KB. I replaced the client file. I'll find out in about 10 hours if the result is still rejected.😱
