my dog dixie was diagnosed over the weekend with liver cancer. since she is only 3 years old she is still getting along very well. we won't put her down until she takes a turn for the worst. below is a little montage of her growing up.

update

just got back from putting her down.

last night she was in so much pain that we both didn't sleep. raise a cold one for her.🙁

:brokenheart: for Dixie. I take it Sammy is the Lab mix in the photos. Pretty dog. I have 2 Black Labs. Sammy looks like my youngest Lab, who is fiesty as hell, and always goes for the throat on my older Lab.

My dog was diagnosed with cancer a couple years back, and he's an older dog. She'll pull through.

unfortunately there isn't much hope. her ultrasounds show that her liver is about 3 times the size as normal and is working at less than 25% efficiency. another problem is that her liver is putting pressure on the rest of her organs.

So sorry for your loss 🙁

Our cocker Katie had an operation right before Christmas to remove a growth from her liver. It turned out to be a cancer called hemangiosarcoma and she died in our arms on the way to the vet on January 8. It was 31 days exactly from the first signs something was wrong with her until she died.

Bummer. 🙁 My Indy dog died of liver cancer about a year and a half ago so I know it sucks but at least Dixie isn't hurting any more.

Only 3 years....that fvcking sucks. Was she a Rott/Shepherd mix? We've been lucky with all of our dogs: 15-16 year old Shi-Tzu mix (put down in Dec), ~8 year old Boxer purebred, 2 year old Chihuahua purebred, and now a 6 month old mutt. As you can tell, we love animals 🙂

I wish you the best with your loss 🙁:sun:

So sorry to hear that. Poor doggie. 🙁 Our 1 year old cat was just diagnosed with an incurable fatal heart disease, so I know what you're going through.
