Just happened a couple hours ago and got an email from Microsoft saying there was unusual activity, with a sign in from China.

It was just for Skype for my mom and aunt, the aunt being in Hong Kong.

They probably did get my name and birthday and grabbed the files an old Windows phone uploaded on my OneDrive. This account wasn't used for email though.

Well, time to change passwords and turn on 2FA or the numerous other methods.

With good encryption and a good master password, it's unlikely a manager will get cracked. I'm confident enough to upload my database to random cloud storage providers. Good luck breaking my database. I just switched to keepassxc on my desktop cause it allows merging of databases, and I use keepassdx on android.

Those are great until they get hacked and you lose all your passwords.

if you’re referring to last pass, breaches aren’t a users fault. Sure , it’s the users fault for choosing last pass!

there’s many other options that don’t store your data the way last pass does.

use a 16+ character master password that isn’t just lower case letters. Use a manger that is either local only or lets you choose where to store the clouds sync database, and that account better have 2FA with unique strong password as well.
