I`m having a problem with static/hiss when I play mp3`s. This doesn`t happen every time I play one, but it`s happening quite often. Anybody had this problem with Win2K/Soundblaster Live X-gamer 5.1/Winamp?
 
Screw around with the settings in My Computer/Control Panel/AudioHQ. I had the same problem and it finally went away when I changed a bunch of settings. I don't which ones they were exactly.
 
Can`t do that, because I only installed the Windows drivers. I didn`t think there was a real need for any of the stuff.
 
Actually, go to the Creative site and download LiveWare3.0 and install that. Just take the startup sh1t out after installing. They like to put their icons and stuff everywhere!
 
Are you playing mp3's in winamp "real time " mode ,if so you may want to drop it down to high or normal in the options/preferences.
