One more question about 19" monitors

Well, based on my finances, I've narrowed my choices to the following models:

1) Samsung SYNCMASTER 950P
2) Viewsonic G790
3) KDS VS195
4) Any other monitor for around $300-350

I think you're best off with the 950P, even though its not flat, its got some pretty damn high resolutions and refresh rates. I would recommend the 955DF over that because it's flat, not as high resolutions. But can be had for under $300.

Or the SyncMaster 900NF if you can spend a little bit more, $440 - $30 - 10% = ~ $370(Onvia only). Now that's a steal.

<< $440 - $30 - 10% = ~ $370(Onvia only). Now that's a steal. >>

Be careful quoting the 10% refund from Point Click -- the payout history is starting to look a bit grim.

Ok, lets just say spending $410 on one of the highest class 19" monitor isnt that bad of a deal either.

Really, I thought we had that P.C. status made clear.

Anyhow, if possible, for another $50, the KDS AV195TF is a very nice monitor. Definitely better than say, the Viewsonic PF790. For a decent 19incher, it's gonna take at least $400.

Computers4Sure had the KDS for $398 the last time I looked (yesterday).

There is nowhere better than buying from Onvia, free shipping, but cost about $20 more. Note that the shipping fee is like $40-50 for a 19incher.

persohally I have the viewsonic, and it is sweet. unless you are way too picky(if you were then price wouldn't be an option) i would just go with the cheapest you can find any of those that you listed.
btw 123cdc.com has some really good deals on moniters.

What do you guys think about KDS190? I found a really good deal on it, however, I don't want to buy a POS monitor. All I want to know is if it's OK.

Just my opinion, but I would stay away from KDS. I bought a new 19" KDS about a year ago. The first one died within a month. One day I turned it on and the only thing on the screen was a verticle line about a centimeter wide. KDS does have a pretty good return policy, so they sent me out a new monitor (not refurbed). There were some serious distortion problems with this monitor as well as very visible lines every inch and a half running vertically down the screen. I put up with it for about 2 months, and then it died - screen just went black. I sent it back to KDS and they sent my a refurbed monitor which I am still using now. The screen quality is much, much, better than the second, but still not great. I have been using it for 5 months now, and it has started to act up. I could just be surfing the web when I hear a click and the entire screen shoots in until it is a 3" by 3" box in the center and then it shoots back out. As I said, the quality is not that great, so I upgraded about 2-3 months ago to an LG Studioworks 995e 19". It has beautiful image quality I have not had a bit of trouble with it. They are not very expensive either. I bought it through hardwarebuyline, but only because I got it reimburesed by pointclick. Based on my experience, I would never buy another KDS no matter how cheap the price is.

Thats what you get for buying a monitor that cheap. How can you expect a quality monitor for that cheap? KDS's higher end models are great.

My 2 Cents.

Viewsonic G790

I've used a number of VS monitors and loved them all.

I would have to agree with other about staying away from KDS. For the majority (85% +) of monitors, cheap price = cheap parts.

Thorin: I really like Viewsonic G790, especially, since it has short depth, which would go well with my limited desk space. However, a number of people adviced getting Samsung 950P over that. So what do you think about G790? Stuff like quality, and especially callibration really matters to me.
