I think I will start off with a 3570k since I only single GPU game anyways. As long as I get a healthy 4.4 - 4.5ghz overclock with decent temps, I will be happy.

I will be keeping my i7 3820 until Haswell.

Haswell is going to be the one worth upgrading to. People moving from SB to IB are the ones with money to burn (or need the IGP boost).

Can't afford a new PC right now so I'll be sticking with Phenom II for the time being, if I can afford to later this year I'll probably be building a new gaming rig around the IB I5.

Other. I'm not upgrading to 2013. Either to a IVB-E (if Intel actually releases these and they don't suck) or I'll wait till Haswell (so I would at least benefit from two 'tocks').

I'm going to get the 3770k but not because of performance needs over my 2600k; rather, because I'm really curious to play around with an IC that has new 22nm 3D xtors under the hood.

I'll be getting the i7-3770k... and giving my i5-2550k to my brother.

It all depends on the Anandtech reviews though in regards to heat, performance, and stuff...😎

Will you be moving over to Z77? Or sticking with Z68?

I am pretty certain I am sticking with the existing Z68 unless Z77 merits some better power saving/consumption and/or heat reductions. In any event if IVB turns out to be a flop on the overclocking side, I will certainly keep my 2500k or go to a 2700k.

I'll throw this down - whatever I deem to be the best bundle @ Microcenter 😎

This will be for my "prod" ESXi box, actually...

I've got a 2500k, and unless I find a killer deal on a 3570k, I'm keeping it.

If I ever saw someone shelling out $220+ to upgrade their IGP, I'd LOL.

I'll sit this one out. I use a dGPU and my mobo has USB3 so there's little benefit this time round.

Probably a Core i5 3570K paired with a MSI Z77A-GD65, Core i7 3770K if I have some extra coin to spare. Have yet to finalize the cooling, probably somewhere between a Corsair H100 or a XSPC RS240 but availability of the XSPC unit is scarce. Hopefully the H100 will hold up and keep the temps at an acceptable range(=<5.0GHz), only if I could not get my hands on the XSPC unit first.

I'm looking at the possibility of purchasing something like the Samsung Series 7 Slate for the entire company. I want 2 cores and 4 threads, turbo up to 2.9 at least. I want 4GB of RAM. I want 128GB SSD. I want twice the GPU power of the HD3000. And a 1080p display. And at least the same battery life as the current series 7 slate. And the ability to easily dock into a full 2-3 monitor workstation. So USB 3.0 is a must. All for under $1500 including 2 docks. The first tablet that can do that has me sold.
