I have a little advice, never put a Christmas tree up a fireplace!! At least not when there is a fire going in it. You see, the problem is, the SOB starts burning too fast and before you know it, the tree is on fire OUTSIDE of the fireplace. Thank god I have wood floors!!!!:Q

Maybe you should try a fake tree next year. Or, if you insist on a real one, cut the tree into many pieces before torching. Just a thought.

You should never burn any softwood in a stove or fireplace..you're just asking for a chiminey fire. You're very lucky indeed. I drive all over the province of Quebec and every year I see at least 5-6 burned down houses..all that is left standing are the chiminey , foundation , and the woodstove . You just know they went used poor judgement with their wood burning.

Is your real name Billy Bob? And do you live in a one-bedroom trailer with your sister in West Virgina?

Can't quit laughing at the thought. Was the fire going before you put the tree up there?

all I can say is call you lucky.

A friend of mine's house nearly caught got destroyed . Luckily he lives 2 blocks from the firestation. He ran in there with his car and said his house was on fire. his sister called 911 in the mean time.

Only 10,000$ damage.. oh well.
