If that thing can support up to 400 lbs, why not simply get a bigger gas tank for 2~4 hour range?

These aren't real, not really. Good luck finding a vid in which the person is actually using it to get anywhere significant above the ground. There are tons of variations of this design but in most cases the pilot is obviously to scared to do much more than a basic test flight.

The US military had one man helicopters they developed on a small scale 50 years ago and there is a vid online of one flying very high, but flying something like this that high up makes maintaining orientation very hard and they are extremely unsafe basically.
