This is my first time to set up this board, so I dont have any history as to what was run in it last. I have a 2100 tbred b. & 512megs pc2700(both new and untested)installed on the board, when it powers up it gives one long beep, then a 5 second pause and another long beep, repeat. Video never comes on, so I cant say as to what bios info there is. The previous owner said it was flashed to the latest bios. I dont have any other components to test the board with, I have a friend with a spare processor and some ram who I am trying to contact but he isnt answering his phone right now. From what I gathered on the abit forums this is a memory error, anyone have any thoughts or encountered a similar situation on a similar board?

yup ... test that memory ...

And ,,, download the manual from Abit when you get up and running...
(the manual answers your question and it has all diagnostic info)

A quik test also ... use only one stick at a time ...
(find the bad stick)

And ,,, make sure they are inserted into the MB all the way ...
(they make a real tight fit)

Take the memory stick out and try to boot. If the memory is good you should get a different beep code with it out.

I dont have a second system to test it in, but I did get my hands on a duron and a second stick of ram to test the board. I did try to boot without the memory in place and I got the same error beep, so maybe the board doesnt support this processor. I have to put everything back in the case though later tonight, as I put my old one back in to post this thread. The joy of computers. I did read that the tbreds were only supported on the rev 1.1 pcb of these, and it looks like I have rev 1.0. I have read some threads on the abit forums that say it still works on the 1.0, just not officially supported. I'll find out soon enough I guess. Thanks for the replys guys-
