What is teh signifigance of the ending? Does the ending imply that Sy was abused as a child? What happened to the pics he took?

I'm gonna bump this, cause my friends and I just watched it tonight, and we were wondering about the same part. The "you don't take sick, disgusting photos of your children" part got us talking.

Did the father in the movie take dirty photos of his son (that Sy saw)?
Was Sy abused as a child?

I interpreted the fact that Sy had the father pose nude with his girlfriend on the bed as a poetic justice thing, implying that the father had done that to his own son. But my friends mentioned the possibility that Sy was viewing himself as a father figure in the family and condemning his own acts after the fact...

Interesting movie. Anyone know?

yea the ending was a slight cop out there i guess. but the rest is creepy as hell

That was one freaky movie.

Yes, he was abused as a child. He didn't take pictures, the camera was empty. I think he was trying to traumitize the dad and his ho, so they wouldn't be able to be together anymore, and so hopefully the dad wouldn't cheat on his wife again.

It made more sense the second time I watched it.

THat's how I read it too. When the cop finally does give Sy the pics he really took, they were all of the "little things" (remember when he said no one ever takes pics of the little things?) in the hotel room. The dad got what he deserved, after all he was a dirty Mac user. :|
