One hell of a job perk

I recently started as a bartender at a local tavern. One of the side perks is that I can now order cases of beer at just about wholesale prices. Last night my employer handed me a case of Stone Imperial Stout, and told me I owed him $43. This would have retailed for a minimum of ~$65 (including tax), and at most places it would have cost ~$80.

I'm liking my new job. And not just because I took home $210 after last night's shift.

10 hours. It would have been higher, except I got stiffed by a couple people early on. At the end of the night my tip jar had more $5 bills in it than $1 bills for the highest 2/3'rds of the jar (ie, the last 2/3'rds of the night).

Yeah. 90 different beers in stock, and our drafts run from Stone Ruination IPA to Newcastle... and all drafts except our beer of the month is $3.25/pint all the time.

Working at a brewery would be even nicer.

That doesnt have the same variety. Your discount would be limited to the beers that your brewery makes. But it still isnt bad, I have a teammate who works for Great Lakes Brewery.

It is the Creekside Tavern, in Avon, Ohio (near Cleveland). It is on the corner of Rt. 611 and Detroit Ave.

Working for one of the large breweries that also does imports/distribution has tons of perks. :p

Do you know anyone who works for them?

Besides, being a bartender means you get to flirt with the good looking chicks at the bar as they get drunk. And they pay you to do so. ;)

The bar where I work doesnt have much smoke. I smell like smoke at the end of the night, sure, but it isnt really a smoky atmosphere. It depends on the bar, I guess.
