One handed typing for free?

I want to type one handed using the half-qwerty system (hold the spacebar down to mirror the keyboard) but the only keyboard that does it (half a keyboard even) is $295!!! That's not a hot deal! I was thinking $30 would be too much...
It seems there was a software implementation (halfkey) that was available for a week until the Apple worshipping nazis that make the $295 hardware version asked glen to take it down. I was searching P2Ps and came up with nothing.

Any ideas?

ha - that's the cliche question 😉

Think about it though, typing 80% as fast with just one hand. The other hand is free to mouse around. Or, you could build your one handed keyboard into a chair or something and really recline - so much more ergonomic.

In all seriousness... one-handed typing would certainly rule... I hate switching from mouse to keyboard and back. I've tried practicing a few times typing a regularly qwerty keyboard with just my left hand, but it's too wide to really map reference points without looking. 🙁

I didn't know there was such a thing as half a keyboard.

It says you can learn how to do it in a few minutes, but I'm going to call BS on that one. I think it's going to be hard to change old habits and use this keyboard (especially for those of us who don't really hunt and peck but don't use the correct touch typing technique).

Typing and drawing on a stylus at the same time is going to require incredible coordination...well at least it would be way beyond me 🙁

This sounds really useful it was it cheap. I've tried experimenting typing with one hand on a normal keyboard but it can be a pain... and I go much slower with lots of mistakes (from jumping around). This would seem quite useful if it was cheaper...
