I was watching CSPAN and a member of Congress standing on the floor said we would have been better off just killing everyone to include women and children. Someone up there finally understands that the only thing the Arabs understand and respect is force. Yet we continue to tip toe thru the tulips and not upset anyone. Darn it its war. The point of war is to DEFEAT your opponet. Not this BS we are engaged in. Either pound these people into the ground or come home.

Rodney King was a sensationalized situation that was really less outrageous than it was made out to be.

You can only say that because it was not you getting beat-up with clubs.

Regarding the OP, what are you saying? It is okay to invade a country and kill everyone? I thought the reason for invading Iraq was to bring freedom to them

 You do realize that they stopped subduing him once he stopped resisting arrest? Have you seen any more of the video than the 5 second clip the media played every twenty minutes?

Regarding the OP:

Yup, our mistake was not in attacking an independant country that was NOT sponsering terrorism, it was in NOT KILLING THEM ALL after we got there. I'm sure OUR god would have sorted them out, right?

Damn us silly liberals...

YOU'RE RIGHT - Saddam wasn't sponsoring terrorism, he was just COMMITTING GENOCIDE and KILLING MILLIONS OF HIS OWN PEOPLE. Once hell of a difference

So we should have stopped him from killing his own people by killing them first?

Saddam was killing millions? Not to defend the guy or his govt, but that's an obvious exaggeration, and unsupported in the context of the allegation being made.

Nor does that conduct justify our own, if we're merely using it as an excuse to act more like him than the majority of Americans or our theoretical ideals would endorse. We're not really well-suited to act as imperialists. At the height of their empire, the brits were, however- after WW1, they dropped mustard gas to flush out the inhabitants of iraqi villages, then machine-gunned them from the air... Even that wasn't totally effective at pacifying the population, and they set up a puppet, cleared out in 1932... after a lot of bloodshed...

Doesn't really fit in very well with the whole idea of Iraqi Freedom, does it? I mean, uhh, that's the only palatable justification that remains, right? Or are we switching horses again?

Umm, I don't think Saddam was "killing millions," as you put it. Anyway, bowmasters point was that it's silly to think that the solution to bringing peace to a country is by forcing your way in and killing the people you're bringing freedom to...

I almost got banned for not using a smiley yesterday, and today someone is advocating killing everyone including women and children but apparently this is cool.

Nice.

Obviously I don't support the argument represented in the OP, but I was just firing back at a dumbass comment. Yea, I grossly overexagerated, but not on purpose (it's kind of hard to think straight when you pull an all nighter, damned 2nd shifts, damn Bush for making me work!!!!!!!)
