One email address, 3 computers

Okay we have three computers in my house and only one email address. My stupid sister is always checking email on her computer which is in her room. Most of the time the emails aren't for her yet she gets them on her computer. Now of course she forgets to tell anyone and the rest of us never get to read our emails. Is there a way to download the emails from my ISP and then distribute them to every computer. So that all the computers see every single email. Like an email server or something.

The most simple solution would probably be to set up 2 of the 3 email clients to not delete messages from the mail server once they have been downloaded. If you're using OE, try tools -> accounts -> mail -> properties -> advanced -> "Leave copy.." There should be a setting similar to this in whatever client you are using.

This might also be a good time to get extra email accounts for everyone. Most ISPs offer more than one -- just check support webpages or call customer service and ask. Otherwise, there are many free/cheap email services out there, both web-based and pop3/imap.

One addition to bex0rs comments. Set all three of the computers to leave the e-mail on the server. On one of the three computers (probably the "main" one) set it to delete the e-mails on the server after 7 days or so. That way everyone have a chance to download them.

thanks guys. Glad I asked since it turned out to be so simple. I wish I could get more email addresses but the stupid company doesn't offer that.

If you're just looking for more e-mail addresses, that's easy. Outlook Express will now link in with a hotmail account and let you use it just like any other e-mail account. Works like a charm and it's free! Get the latest version of IE or just check your Outlook Express. Go to the Accounts and add a new one - It should walk you through the process of setting up a hotmail and getting it connected.
