I'm not sure. I have the two week ones. I wouldn't take the chance of using the one day ones for more then one day.

Don't want to get an eye infection.

I wear the two week deals, and leave them in for a month or 5 weeks or so. No problems at all.

I think the one-day lenses are called something else, another "-vue". Anyway they are relatively expensive and only for the truly lazy.

EDIT: nope, I was wrong. The 1 day Acuvues are called "1-day Acuvues". Sorry. I think they are different lenses though.

its a little more expensive... about $25 a month, compared to $15 a month for the 2 week disposables. but you never have to worry about cleaning them or storing them.

I remember seeing a 20/20 special regarding contact lenses about 5 years ago and they found that disposables and daily wears were the same thing. I don't know if that same information still applies, but I keep wearing bi-weekly disposables for multiple month periods. I just throw them out when I feel like it. Now, don't go off doing the same thing if it makes you uncomfortable. Listen to your optometrist along with your other doctors or pharmacists. The pros (usually) know best.

well i'm not going to wear the 1 day acuvues for months or anything, but i like how the newer contacts feel better as opposed to contacts i've used for a week or a week and a half. i figure this way, i'll get that more often, and if they;re the same, i can switch like once a week or something.

I noticed my friend had contact lenses once when I looked at him up close - and I never realized he had them.. They were Acuevues and he said he hasn't taken them out for the past 5 months.. His eyes aren't red or anything.. I think they've grafted onto his eyeball by now..

Longest I leave lenses in is about 3 days at a time. My eyes are sensitive and they water like crazy - especially during movies. (hehe, I'm just a big crybaby)

I dunno where you all are getting your information.

I've had both. I had 2 weeks Acuvue's for about 2 years and have had the daily Acuvue's for about 2 years as well.

I immediately noticed a difference. The one days appeared much thinner and flexible. Cheaper manufacturing? The 2 week ones also had more UV tint in the middle. I could notice a blue circle that isn't visible on the daily's.

Does anyone actually change their contacts after 2 weeks? I wear mine for at least 8 weeks, since by that time the contacts are filmy and I can't see sh*t. I can't go to sleep with them either b/c the contacts always dry out and I can't open my eyes b/c they're glued to my eyelids. My roommate however, has had his 2 week disposables in for 6 months and never takes them out. How does he do it :frown:

anyways, as for your question, I'd assume they'd be different, but I could be wrong and it could just be a gimmick. Wish I had the $$ to throw contacts away every day. If I find old ones that've hardened completely, I'll still attempt to soak them for a couples days and reuse them...

I don't know anything about contacts, but all of you people that keep them in for like many weeks, isn't that supposed to be bad? lol

You are correct, they are identical, and also hence the lawsuit or w/e that resulted in the rebates.

My optometrist for the past 3 yrs has been telling me to just buy the 1 day accuvues and wear them for 2 weeks.

I have the two week ones and I got the lawsuit form but never filled it out because it doesn't apply to me.

so thats what the class action law suit was about. i think i'll give the one a day ones a shot....

the people that keep their contacts in for months at a time amaze me. i cant imagine that being good for you. when i take a nap with mine in they get kinda dry. plus i heard that with them in, your eyes dont get as much oxygen as they need, so its good to take them out.
