Yes. But you'll have to put 98se on first, and then XP second. When you install XP, it'll put a bootloader on there to let you choose between the two OS's.

Yep this can be done... pretty easily too.
Just make sure you install 98se first. Then when you go to install XP choose not to upgrade and do a clean install onto the 2nd drive/partition.
Do a search in the Operating Systems or software forums... you'll probably get more help there then you'll get in OT. Everybody here will just say "wrong forum!" 😉
Time for me to jump in and justify that last statement. I have your config up and running but WIN98 was installed first.Originally posted by: bentwookie

I did that and only got a couple replies..all the traffic and smarts seem to be here.

Couldn't he just do this?
He's getting a Dell preloaded with XP. He's going to add a 2nd drive to that PC.
When he puts the 2nd drive in he can unplug the power to the XP drive... and install 98se on that 2nd drive.
Shutdown the system and plug the XP drive back in... when he turns on the PC XP will load up.
Then he can edit boot.ini to tell it where to find 98se.
I havn't tried this with XP so I'm not 100% sure... should work though.

funny I just thought the same thing, why can't I just unplug the xp drive, install the second drive boot and install 98se. shut down, reattach xpdrive and boot again? Only thing will there be a conflict since xp is already loaded?
