one click registers as two?

sometimes while browsing the internet, if i middle click a link(to open in a new tab) it opens in two tabs. Dunno whether this a problem with my OS or my mouse because it happens on other applications too.

Anyone can help me out?
 
Probably your mouse. "Ghost" clicks are typical of a malfunctioning mouse. I had an MX518 that would randomly scroll the mousewheel down whenever it felt like it.

That is an awesome fix! 😀

On a more serious note:
I've had this issue with several Logitech mice throughout the years, usually taking it apart and cleaning everything and being sure the mouse's outer "fingers" are aligned correctly to activate the switch properly when pushed and that usually fixes it.
 
I had to dump my Razer Deathaddr because it was doing that, it's definitely the mouse but sometimes it's just dust or cluttered hair (if you have cats) underneith the button.
 
well i don't have cats (nor any other animal) but this mouse is 6 years old and i live in a dusty city..
