one buffer file for two OS's?

Ive got Linux going good finally and got dialup working but Im not ready to ditch Win2k yet. Can I just make a small fat partition and put the pproxy files for both on there so I don't have to worry about stale blocks?

Same question goes for the client itself, although not near as important as I don't buffer many with the client on here anyway.

An interesting challenge mindless.

As far as I know the buffer files are the same for both versions of the pproxy you have so it should be as simple as you describe. All of the log files are written to the same directory as the pproxy is located in so you should be OK with the same INI file as well for both versions.

PS. If you're new to linux I'd definately reccommend you grab this utility www.webmin.com. It's a great little web based utility for configuring settings and it's still helping me out with the server at work

I was thinking it would work as well, but Ive used logic before with programs and ended up with a mess, I might just run dual proxys for a bit till Im comfortable with my new toy

nice little program Id imagine, probably similiar to what we use at work, but everything will be done locally for this machine, the proxy is only for my lan. although I guess I could allways play with it like that

FYI: I have run the Linux and Windows versions from the same directory before. (Obviously, the executable may be different, but everything else is the same (dnetc.ini is the same, etc.). I haven't noticed any problem with doing so.

You shouldn't have any trouble with the client. Like SUO, I have done it before. I don't know about the pproxy though.

I guess the only way I will find out is to try it and hope for the best. Now I just need to free up some space to partition.
