I've had numerous of these bites with major infections but nothing as bad as this guys.
I could easily fill up a teaspoon with the amount of pus/blood that would come out of each one. I would use a hot shower or hot wash-cloths for about 20-minutes to soften it up and then push gently to extract what I could without causing a large wound as I did not want to scar. I also would take Keflex which is a mild antibiotic that is good for soft tissue infections.
I ended up in the emrgency room once, had a giant one on my back and one on my forearm. The one on my back I thought was a zit but when my arm started to swell and became painful to move I had to hit the hospital. This was my first time with a bite like this and had no idea what I was dealing with. Hospital tech scrubbed out the sore on my back with it ended up looking raw like hamburger, I have a big scar from that. I took my antibiotics and all was fine.
Since that one I have had numerous but none in the last 7yrs, no idea why they stopped happening but I did move to California.
