I got $600 from my tax refund that I need to burn. It came down to something for my PC or for my car but since I just ordered a $450 part for the car recently, it was going to my PC this time.

I'm currently running a dual monitor setup with the primary being an old 21" CRT and the secondary is a 17" CRT. Summer is coming up and these 2 CRTs are going to turn my non-air conditioned room into an oven so I've decided to replace these with LCDs. I may even regain valueable table space in the process.

So, which should I go for? A 21" LCD @25ms or 2 - 19" LCDs @ 16ms? I know it really depends on what I most do on my PC but I still want the Wow factor too when someone sees my setup. And what I mostly do is run multiple apps and gaming every now and then.

if you run multiple apps the painfully obvious choice is 2 19" monitors....Durh?

2x 19" gives you "2560x1024" worth of desktop space while 21" gives 1600x1200.

If gaming is important to you than the 21", you can not run games on two monitors, unless you like looking at 2 of the same thing. If multitasking is your main goal than the dual 19" will be the solution.

Just took a trip to CompUSA during lunch to check out the differences between 19" and 21" LCDs. I thought there was going to be a noticeable difference between the two sizes but I was surprise to see that there really wasn't any. So it's going to be 2 19's...plus I could use the faster response time with the 19's in games.

2x19" or a 24" Dell 2405FPW/Apple Cinema 23" would be cool...

Or two Samsung 193Ps would slay you.

Either way, you'll be happy! I too envy you.

the only problem here is that your original impetus was to impress others rather than make yourself happy! noone likes a showoff! ;)

Dell 2005FPW for web browsing and other work, retain your old 21" for gaming. Dual monitor setup. Sweet.
