Is there any way to cleane said address once it is totally spamified, or is it best just to start over with a new one?

Basically, start over. Eventually you may want to sign up for all your e-commerce sites on one addy, all your spam on another, and have a 3rd address for personal correspondence. It works fairly well and my main address has not been spamified yet.

Eventually your address will leak. I've learned to accept this and have no problem using my primary address nearly everywhere. Sure, I would get quite a bit of spam -- but it's amazing how much good decent spam filtering scripts and blackhole lists will do.

At least 2 years on my one address and I've been fine, but just lately I've been getting daily emails about debt reduction spam, totally out of nowhere and all the same subject.

I kept mine spamfree for about 2-3 years then it just went ballistic. It's fairly inevitable because all it takes is ONE company to get it. What a pain.

Is it legal to firebomb spammer computers? j/k

Last time I formatted this computer, when I activated my Outlook Express using Hotmail, I started getting all these porno adds from nowhere, so I had to create a new address, at least for Outlook Express. Since then, everything's been fine.

I've been using my regular email address for about a year now, I get some spam due to the GF's rewards programs, but overall not bad enough to make me want to create a new address.

If you're getting spammed really bad though, I'd say get a new address. -kd5-
