Once EGAY suspends your user account, can you ever come back?

This'll be quick, because I have to run to a BBQ before the DMB concert tonight...

EGAY (and yes, I know I can say eBay now but that's what it really is) just permanently suspended my account because of three NPB's (non-paying bidder complaints). I feel bad about all three, but only received them because I had won the same item twice and only needed (and only paid for) one.

This doesn't really make sense to me from a business standpoint, because I have over 400 POSITIVE feedbacks and transactions. Wouldn't this be dumb on EGAY's part never to let me come back again? After all, they've cashed in on me when I've sold, and I add to their profits even more by bidding.

At this point, is there anything I can do? I only have one credit card, and was warned against "registering under a new handle/name/card." Please help!

Thank you very much, I hope you have a lovely day today.

I don't know, but 3 times? Didn't you figure out after the first time you only bid on what you will pay for?

BTW I've done that before, bid on 2 auctions & won both, but then I follow through and sell off the extra.

3 times over a period of 3 years, I don't think that's a terrible track record. >o_O<

My ride's here now, gotta run...

Anyone else?,

geez you only need 1 but you bid on 2. That's just terrible. How would you like if people do that to you.

Just make another account then. Good thing is I have several accounts with my feedbacks spread out so they can lock any account and I'm still go.

There are two kinds of suspension (indefinite and temporary) as well as a series of formal warnings. I guess it depends on which one you got (I'm assuming they're calling it indefinite). You can appeal your suspension (there's a Contact eBay button on nearly all of the Help pages), but it's completely within their discretion whether or not you'll get your suspension lifted.

On the other hand, sellers and buyers in the help forums over there routinely set up new accounts using the same CC's - while the odds are, they weren't suspended, it just shows eBay isn't necessarily keeping track of accounts if they let you set up multiples in the first place.

I'd appeal the suspension and if that doesn't work...well, the worst thing that can happen is you make a new account and they suspend that one too, I guess. If they don't want you to do it, I'm sure they'll let you know (much like the Mods here ;)).

You deserve the sentence. You know how much of a pain it is to someone when you bid and don't pay?

1. Time lost.
2. Fees are hard to reclaim from ebay.
3. Opportunity lost to sell the item.

As a seller, i will hunt down the person and make them pay. If i've gotta drive to their door and file a legal complaint for breach of contract. They should pay for the item , and eat the costs, You can resell it if you don't want it.

I've never had a non-paying-bidder after calling them at home, harassing them, etc.

i say appeal to them and try to work it out, if it's a no go, then just start a new account...a shame tho that you'd lose the 400 positives...btw, saw your post about the free stuff in the UK, hoping it arrives before i return, i'm here for probably couple more weeks, so chances are unlikely :(....no biggie...

You've been a bad kitty :D

It doesn't sound like you are a criminal, so I'm fairly sure they'll let you come back. Else there's always your good friend, the lawyer ;):p

You are a non-paying bidder. I don't care how many you needed, you won auctions and should pay for them. I too have won auctions (higher bidders were removed) when I only wanted one item. In all cases, I paid for both.

If I were ebay, I would not enable your account. You don't seem to understand that your "excuse" does not remove your obligation to the seller.

I have the opposite problem. I "won" an item (no reserve) for $380 that was worth about $520 actually. Few bid because he had no history, no pictures, and a generic description of the item. I sent three emails in a week - no response. Apparently, he just isnt going to sell it at a lowball price. I guess the only thing I can do is bad feedback?

And to the original poster: you deserve to be banned, you seem to think the world exists for your personal wants and needs.

Not if you don't pay. It's not good bidding on something and not paying.

Hmm...even though I agree with these guys, that if you win an auction you should pay no matter WHAT, but I think you will be let back at some point and time...

I have seen many eBay'ers with thousands and thousands of feedback, with up to 40 negatives...but I think that is because they are streched out so far apart, that it sort of takes it off their record...not their permanent record, but like if you get them within 6 months or something you get banned/suspended.

What is your name? :D

<< EGAY (and yes, I know I can say eBay now but that's what it really is) >>

How so? How is 'Ebay' really 'EGay' - in what context? The use of that word may offend some people and hurt feelings....

Please edit...:(

There needs to be some system in place to deal with Non-Paying Bidders. As a seller, they are a real PITA, especially the ones that will not respond even though they are continuing to buy and sell.

If you are going to bid on 2 auctions for the same item you should be willing to take the risk of winning both, and buying both. So I agree, you should be banned, 3 times is too much.

As a frequent seller on ebay, I agree with your permanent suspension. We do not need bidders like you screwing things up...

Yes, it is possible to come back after being suspended. One moron that ripped me off is back now, after Maetryx and I got him suspended. When last I checked, he had multiple negative feedbacks from his latest transactions. He was some fourteen year old kid, and we actually called his house about the transaction, and his mother, through her own stupidity, proved that she knew her son was ripping people off and that she was not going to do anything about it. I hope they boot his arse for good, this time.

Just went and looked up his account. He got suspended again! :D Bastard got five or six negative feedbacks for not paying, replied to all the negatives saying he had been in the hospital. Got some more a month later, this after he was supposedly out of the hospital and responding to all his negative feedbacks. Maybe he got hit by a bus this time. I sure hope so! :D

You won 3 auctions and didn't pay for them? Bad kitty..

You deserve a suspension, but I don't think a ban is warrented, given your 400+ positives.

If you win an auction - Pay for it. If you can't afford to win all the auctions you are bidding on, don't bid.
