The run the ATOT SS every year and put in a ton of effort with no reward. Its high time they are recognized for their efforts.

I agree with the OP, during my 5 years participating in AT SS, they have been extremely helpful! One year I didn't get a gift and they bought me a gift themselves!

A custom title would be an excellent way to show we care.

I'm simply asking a question: Why aren't Marty and Skip elite? I believe its a fair question.

While they both may be Elite material for other things, running SS to the "benefit" of a few members isn't one of them.

Wait... taking the time out of their day to coordinate ~50 (+/-) gift exchanges, trying to help with the logistics of the task (they are matching up people geographically to make shipping easier), providing a (granted, minimal, but still) website to sign up and automate things for the end user, manually matching up individuals to exchange gifts, taking care of loose ends as they come up, and trying to ensure items get to who they're supposed to get to...

... YEAR IN AND YEAR OUT?

And if you're concerned that it only occurs to a few members, keep in mind that they have absolutely NO limit on who can participate. Anybody can sign up... so there's the distinct possibility that they may end up with 2500 signups next year. Probably not, but still... if it happened, they'd still be doing this. And they ask for nothing in exchange.

I can think of many here who are labeled elite for far less... present company included.

I definitely appreciate what they're doing, but I'm guessing to get an elite status you need to provide more of a benefit to anandtech directly. Although, I have no idea what qualifies one for elite, so I guess I'm just blowing smoke out of my ass.
