Once again, do you note the difference between a CAS3, 2.5 and 2 RAM stick? Any benchies maybe?

cas 2.5 pc3300 is slower then cas 2 pc2700. If you're spending the money to get the 400mhz memory, spend a few bucks more and get something that will positively run faster 🙂

if youre overclocking, wanting a TOP gaming rig or a 3dmark whore 🙂P) then cas2 seems to be well worth it. If you're not doing anything demanding 2.5 is totally fine, in fact i'd say cas3 be ok but crucial is 2.5 no point doing worse 🙂 I reckon chances are that if someone goes to the thought/bother of asking then it's probably worth the bit extra.

OK, gonna go with Corsair 3500 then cuz I read that the Corsair 3200 is currently "incompatible" with the Asus A7N8X.

Thanks

Same memory, different timings....

Uh.... tell that to my A7N8X that's running 2 sticks of Corsair C2 PC3200 (currently up to 204mhz 🙂)

Check out http://www.houseofhelp.com/v2/forumdisplay.php?forumid=128 and search for "A7N8X". There are a LOT problems with Corsair PC 3200 RAM and that motherboard. Also in the Official Asus A7N8X thread over at http://www.amdmb.com, a lot of users report problems with this kinda RAM. It might just need a BIOS update or something, but there ARE issues. To resolve it, (just from memory, not sure if it only runs on CAS 2 or only CAS 3), you have to boot with another stick of RAM, set it to CAS 2 or 3, and then it works. It won't work if you have set it to "Auto" IIRC.
